Learning to Pray, Solomon Leung Having been in the Full-Time Training in Anaheim for almost a year and a half, my most enjoyable experience thus far is being able to see how much the Lord answers my prayers. Before coming to the Training, I did not pray often and if I did, the prayers were short and shallow. Only when I was going through some difficult situations, the Lord answered my occasional desperate prayers, but those were few and far between. Very seldom did I set aside time in the day to contact the Lord on my own or with others, which I now see is very important to my Christian life. Watchman Nee said that a normal Christian should experience many answered prayers. This statement is becoming more of a reality to me as I am here in the Training. Learning to live a normal Christian life requires that I daily seek Christ for my spiritual nourishment or practical needs. But a big lesson and enlightenment to me was to see that praying for other people's needs is also a source of enjoyment, instead of being so self- concerned so much of the time. When those prayers began to be answered by the Lord, my faith increased and there was much joy within my being. The times that I pray with others is when I experience the sense of life flowing in my being (Luke 11:13, 1 Corinthians 15:45) and those are the times when the majority of the prayers get answered. So the verses in Luke 11:9-10 are a big motivation for me to keep praying. The more I pray, the more results I see and the more normal I become. Main | History | Testimonies | Links Copyright © 2002.
